My Background

I started my working career as a Nurse in the Royal Air Force over 30 years ago, and subsequently worked in General Nursing, Education and Health Visiting.  Counselling seemed like a natural progression from this and I went on to complete a Diploma in Integrative Counselling.  I set up my own private practice based in Deepcut, Surrey in 2007, and I am presently working towards my Full Accreditation with BACP.

I have also gained experience working in General Practice Counselling and as a Volunteer working for CRUSE Bereavement Care and the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice in Farnham.

Personal Philosophy

I believe that people are unique, worthwhile individuals and have within themselves the potential for emotional growth.  To facilitate this I offer a safe environment, which has its framework in the core conditions of empathy, genuineness and unconditional positive regard.

I work with an awareness of difference and diversity and a belief that all individuals regardless of their gender, ethnicity or sexuality should be given respect and the opportunity to fulfill their potential.

My approach to counselling is integrative, which means utilising different skills and theories appropriate to suit each client’s individual needs.
